Welcome
The Stoughton School Nurses are integral members of the educational team who assist children and youth to develop their full potential.
School nursing is a specialty branch of professional nursing that seeks to prevent or identify student health related problems and intervenes to modify or remediate these problems. A comprehensive school health program includes the delivery of health services and health education, which directly contributes to the student's education, as well as the health of the family and community.
All of the School Nurses in the Stoughton Public Schools are registered with the Massachusetts Board of Registration and Nursing and hold School Nurse certification with the Massachusetts Department of Education.
In the school year 2009 - 2010, the school nurses saw 69,250 students visit their offices including 7,837 for medications, 11,247 for treatments or procedures and 8,094 for screenings.
