The packed parking lot and crowded halls were just one indication of the success of O'Donnell Middle School's "Knight of Excellence."
Students, parents and family members filled the school last Thursday night to visit classrooms and observe projects completed by students in all grades. Every area of the school offered something different from science projects to a talent show to blues singing.
The cafeteria, one of the most crowded rooms in the school, was dubbed "Tastes of the World" for the night. The walls were draped with student-made, multi-colored flags representing a variety of French and Spanish speaking countries. On the tables were unique and creative three-dimensional projects based on different aspects of French or Spanish speaking countries. Books describing Japan and Italian cookbooks were displayed in the back section of the cafeteria.
In the middle section of the cafeteria, seventh and eighth grade students presented a variety of foods they had prepared. The diverse foods were individually selected by the students and came from between 30-50 different countries.
