Hannah McCarthy loves watching the figure skating competitions on television during the Olympics. It's exciting, she said, to cheer on her favorite skaters.
But what's even more fun for the Stoughton 6-year-old was participating in a replicated Olympics ceremony at the Gibbons Elementary School.
McCarthy and her kindergarten classmates stood outside their classroom watching students from every grade run the Olympic paper torch through the halls. The kindergarteners were all wearing handmade paper hats sporting the flag of their Olympics country, England.

"It is super super-duper cool to do it here at school," said McCarthy.
After cheering on their classmates, the students marched to the school cafeteria.
Niamh Fennessy, 10, was selected with a classmate to light the ceremonial torch to kick off the festivities.
"It's fun and I think it is a good idea," she said about the dayís events.
Entering the cafeteria, each class of students was announced by the country they were representing. Students waved handmade flags and carried banners depicting their countries. Some chanted the name of their country. Each entry earned a great applause with the most cheers reserved for the entrance of the United States of America.
