SHS Student Scientists Win At State Science Fair

Stoughton HIgh School recently participated in the 59th Annual Massachusetts State Science Fair. Approximately 370 students from every region in Massachusetts converged on the campus of MIT to present a wide array of comprehensive experimental science/technology projects.
Included in this group of young scientists were seven Stoughton High School students; Cynthia Desire, Christine Howe, Meghan O'Malley, Marissa Petersile, Samantha Pickett, Karlayne Powell and Zach Weed. These students represented Stoughton High School with great pride.
The Stoughton High School science department is pleased to announce the following awards:
First Place - Samantha Pickette for her project, "Home is Where the Heat Is".
Team Honorable Mention - Christine Howe and Meghan O'Malley for their project, "Bugs on Drugs".
Team Honorable Mention - Cynthia Desir and Karlayne Powell for their project, "Sports Drinks and an Onion".
In addition, Samantha was awarded a scholarship to attend Harvard University's Summer Science Institute.
