Dear SPS Community-
This evening, Governor Baker instituted a number of additional measures across the state to increase social distancing. One of those is to keep closed all public and private PK-12 schools across the state for the next three weeks (and a day). As we had already planned on a two-week closure, we are now extending that plan through Monday, April 6th. All schools and school activities, including Kindergarten Registration, are shut down through Monday, April 6th, and will return Tuesday, April 7th.
As mentioned in prior communications, we are working on Continuation of Learning plans to ensure students receive positive academic experiences throughout the closure. We have begun by providing a number of both electronic and non-electronic at-home learning ideas on our website. We will be following that up with learning experiences more specific to students' grades and/or courses by Thursday, March 19th. Our site is a great, centralized place, to find information: https://www.stoughtonschools.org/covid-19-updates
We recognize that this is a unique and difficult time for all of us, and it is our intent to stay strong and provide all we can to our Stoughton students, staff, and families! As long as we can, we will continue to offer breakfast/lunch food services through "grab and go" locations at OMS, Gibbons, and Dawe for families in need. Adjustments to that plan and/or the specifics of educational plans will be announced through email and on our web site as soon as they are known.
We've got this Knights!
Dr. John Marcus, Superintendent
