Family Kickboxing Classes (elementary)
Free Fall Fitness Fun for Families. Kick off the new school year with a Family Kickboxing class. Instructor Angela Palma (Physical Education Specialist with the Stoughton Public Schools) will give an introductory look at how Kickboxing can increase mental clarity, challenge endurance, and improve positivity. Each elementary school will have it's own after-school class.

Family Kindness/Holiday Card Night (at each elementary school and the Jones ECC)
First enjoy a free slice of pizza and some water with your family. Then celebrate kindness. Make links for our Kindness Paper Chains. Write or illustrate kind deeds and thoughts on each link. Listen to a Special Guest read a story about how kind acts lead to more kindness. Create cheerful holiday cards for Stoughton Senior Citizens and local Veterans. We'll link the chains from all schools to make one giant Chain of Kindness we will display around town.

Powerschool Parent Portal Information Workshop (for parents new to Stoughton Schools)
Do you need help understanding what the Powerschool Parent Portal is, why it's important, and how to use it? We can help you gain access to it and learn how to use it to view your child's grades and schedule parent/teacher conferences. Portuguese translators will be available.

Family Volunteer Day 2019
Join us on Saturday, November 16, 2019, to celebrate Family Volunteer Day. This event will be held at the O'Donnell Middle School Chorus Room, 211 Cushing Street, from 9:00-11:00 AM. That morning, we'll be sharing space with the Holiday Fair sponsored by the OMS PTSO. Family Volunteer Day is a global day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their community. Our community service project will be to put together holiday care packages of needed items and donate them to Veterans at the Brockton VA Hospital. Any family can also make a donation from the approved list and send it into any Stoughton school.

Jones ECC Pajama Storytime
Put on your pajamas and grab your favorite stuffed friend and join Ms. Marsha for wonderful stories, songs and dance, and a stuffed friend parade. Families will leave with a "goody bag" filled with a new book and other things. Co-sponsored by the Jones ECC, Stoughton Parent Engagement and Self-Help, Inc. Registration is required.

The Impact of Anxiety on Learning - parent presentation (Grades PK-12)
The Stoughton Parent Engagement department and the Stoughton Special Education Parent Advisory Council are co-sponsoring this free event for all Stoughton parents. This presentation will address some of the underlying issues related to childhood anxiety. Research shows us that there has been a 17% increase in the diagnosis of anxiety disorder over the last 10 years. Some topics covered will be school avoidance, attentional issues, executive function ability, social emotional skills and addiction to video games/social media. Presented by Jane M. Hardin, author and consultant from Ribas Associates. Childcare will be provided if needed; email email@example.com.

Family Zumba Night (elementary school families)
This will be a terrific fitness night of Family Zumba for parents/caregivers and children. Work up a sweat and take off those holiday calories. Carolina Pokraka is a certified instructor and Group Exercise Director at Elite Health and Fitness, and also a Stoughton parent. A raffle will be held for participants for a free one month membership to Elite Health and Fitness donated by them. Families from all Stoughton elementary schools are welcome to attend.

Family Yoga/Meditation Night ( preschool and elementary school families)
This awesome fitness event is for families from all Stoughton elementary schools and the Jones ECC. Join us for Beginner Yoga and Meditation for people of all abilities, including Chair Yoga, if needed. Relax and have fun. Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a Yoga mat or a large towel. This night will be led by Louise Arguello, certified Yoga teacher, and Lydia Takenouchi-Erickson, Therapeutic Sound and a Dawe School parent.

Family Literacy & Math Game Night ( preschool and elementary school families)
Our night begins with free pizza and water. At the end of the event, all children will receive a free book which is sponsored by Title 1. Children will also receive free playing cards and dice. Our theme for this night is "Walking Through the World Together". This family event will celebrate the diversity in Stoughton with many multicultural activities. A Portuguese interpreter will be present to assist families who might need it. Join teachers from your school and the Stoughton Public Library for a multicultural celebration of both Literacy and Math.
