Help prepare your family for the transition to Kindergarten. Join us for our annual playtime for incoming Kindergarten students and their families.

Family Flag Night
Bring the whole family and design your own Family Flag! Use your imagination to come up with what represents your family. All supplies will be provided. We will also be making holiday greeting cards for soldiers and seniors.

Family Craft & Card Night
Please join us in an evening of community to make a fun Fall Harvest craft! The Fall harvest brings corn and we’ll use the corn to POP, eat and make a cute craft! We’ll also get a jump on making cards to send at the holidays to our local seniors and servicemen.

Raising Safe Stoughton Citizens
We will start off this family event with free pizza for this informative discussion with our town safety professionals. Listen to police and fire department personnel for ways to keep children safe in their home, neighborhood and school. A portion of the night will be geared toward families while some time will be reserved for an adult discussion. Families from all elementary schools in Stoughton are invited to attend.

Two great fitness nights of Family Zumba for parents and children. Work up a sweat and take off those holiday calories. Pick which night fits your schedule. The first night at the Hansen School will be led by a YMCA instructor. The second night at the West School will be led by Jacqui Harrison, Hansen School Adjustment Counselor. A raffle will be held for participants of either night for a free three month membership to the Old Colony YMCA donated by them. Families from all Stoughton elementary schools are welcome to attend either location.

Family Literacy Game Night
The night begins with free pizza and ends with a free book for every child. In between are terrific learning games/activities for all Stoughton elementary school families from every school. Our special guest reader will be Dana Barros, former NBA All-Star and Boston Celtic player. We will have many exciting centers with Reading and Writing activities planned and led by school staff. The Children’s Librarians from Stoughton Public Library will be running a center and providing information about programs. The Cat in the Hat will be taking photos with children. It will be quite an exciting event!

Family Kickboxing Night
Another great fitness night featuring Family Kickboxing for both parents and their children. It’s the latest craze in physical fitness. Enjoy an introductory look at kickboxing which can increase mental clarity, challenge endurance and improve positivity. Instructed by Angela Palma, Physical Education Specialist in the Stoughton Public Schools. Families from all Stoughton elementary schools are welcome to attend.

Family Math Game Night
This night is a follow-up to our very successful Family Literacy Game Night. If you attended our Literacy Night, bring back your passport to Math Night and receive a free prize. We will start the night with free pizza and water and end with free playing cards and dice for every child attendee. There are many games families can play using the playing cards and dice. We will have many exciting centers with Math games/activities planned and led by school staff from every school. We will have raffles for Math games. Parents will leave with instructions for many play-at-home Math games. An awesome evening of Math fun for families from all Stoughton elementary schools.

WESTern World Dance and Potluck
The Stoughton Parent Engagement Center and the West Elementary School will be sponsoring a fabulous night of multi-cultural dance and food for the entire family. Enter WESTern World and enjoy dancing and ethnic foods. A special guest performing will be the Dance Team Xclusive from Stoughton High School. Please bring a traditional food of your family or culture to share (optional). Dancing will take place in the gym while the dinner will be held in the cafeteria. For West School families only.

Grow a Garden Night
Back by popular demand. Get ready for spring and grow your own garden. Choose from a variety of vegetables and spices to grow and enjoy this summer. Home gardens are a fun STEM project. There will be a free raffle at each location.

Raising Great Digital Citizens
Last year, we received a great deal of positive feedback about our “Raising Great Digital Citizens” event. So we’ve decided to again present this informative night to families at the elementary school level. We will have free pizza at the beginning of the night. Officer Isabel and Officer Bonda, our School Resource Officers for the Stoughton Police Department, will speak to children and parents about making good choices when using technology and the Internet. Then children will go outside onto the playground, weather permitting, while the discussion shifts to a parent audience. Families from all elementary schools in Stoughton are invited to attend.
