Our Programs: Our programs are staffed by adult coaches along with middle and high school mentors who serve as peer role models and “teammates.” These members of our community are moms and dads, brothers and sisters, teachers and specialists. Some may have degrees in special education or other therapeutic training, while many others may not. What they share, however, is a passion for enriching the lives and experiences of our special needs community. South Shore SNAP programs are designed to be flexible, and prerequisite skills are not required. Coaches and mentors strive to meet each particular child at his or her own level, providing 1:1 assistance for those who require it. All of our volunteers are CORI checked and trained prior to working with our participants. Families are encouraged to provide input on the child’s abilities or limitations. Our goal is for everyone to have a happy, healthy experience!
