On March 28th, the Stoughton High School Jazz Bands and Jazz Voices traveled to the University of Massachusetts Amherst to compete in their 28th annual High School Jazz Festival. The SHS Tuesday Jazz Band was awarded best big band for the night and had the opportunity to open for world-renowned musician, Chief Adjuah at his evening concert! This was their second year in a row coming in first place. Congratulations!

In recognition of their excellent individual performances at the festival, four SHS students were awarded $660 scholarships to the UMass summer jazz program: Tori Chaisson (trumpet), Nicolas Uchani (Bass), Jackson Gosule (Trombone), and Kamayani Slaughter (Voice).
