Edward Clarke, SPS Director of Special Education, and the Stoughton Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) are holding an orientation session to go over DESE's upcoming Integrated Monitoring Review of the Stoughton Public Schools. The orientation will take place this Tuesday, October 28 at 7pm at Stoughton High School, Room A216.

Join the Jones Early Childhood Center's PTO for a Touch a Truck event on Saturday, October 25 from 10am - 1pm. The event will be held in the rear parking lot (enter via Park Ave.). There will be a bake sale, raffles, and lot of fun!

As a reminder, this Thursday, October 23 is an early release day for the Stoughton Public Schools. Here are the school hours for early release days:

Thursday, October 2 is National Custodian Appreciation Day, so we want to show our appreciation for our awesome custodians here at the Stoughton Public Schools. The unsung heroes of our schools, custodians keep our buildings clean and safe, interact daily with students and faculty, and are always there to lend a helping hand. A big thank you to our custodial staff for all of their hard work in keeping our schools looking great!

October is National Principals Month, so as this month gets underway, we want to take this time to recognize our eight amazing building principals. We are so fortunate at SPS to have such a dedicated and caring group of principals! Leaders of their respective school communities, principals provide guidance and support for faculty and staff, encourage students, and engage with families. Thank you to all of our principals for the work they do in making our schools a better place each and every day!

The start of the school year is almost here! Here is a look at the schedule for the first week of September: The district office and all school offices are closed Monday, September 1 for Labor Day; The first day for teachers and school staff is Tuesday, September 2. Offices will open at 10am on Tuesday; The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Wednesday, September 3; The first day for preschool and kindergarten is Monday, September 8.

In appreciation of our educators' dedication to students with unique learning needs, the Stoughton Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) created the Bright Knight Award to recognize the daily support given to our students. SEPAC invited parents whose children have Individualized Education Plans or 504s to nominate staff members who have supported their children's journey to achieve their full potential. Congratulations to the winners of the inaugural Bright Knight Award from the Jones Early Childhood Center - Nicole Velozo and Christine Carter!

Upcoming days off from school: There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Schools are closed for a staff professional development day. Students will return to school on Wednesday, November 6. And, there is also no school on Monday, November 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans Day. The District office and school offices are also closed on Veterans Day.
