 What are School Nurses?

  • All school nurses are Registered Nurses with at least a Baccalaureate Degree in nursing and a MA DESE license in education.

  • They are registered professional nurses responsible for protecting and promoting the health of all students. 

  • They play an essential role in keeping children healthy, safe, and ready to learn. 

  • They have obligations to students, parents, school staff, community and their nursing profession.
