A few notes as we begin the second half of May!

Dear SPS Community-

A few notes as we begin the second half of May!

South Project.  We are excited to be presenting an article for a Feasibility Study for the South Building project this week at Town Meeting.  With more than half the cost reimbursable by MSBA, this is a cost-effective way to explore options for a sorely needed new elementary school for Stoughton (to be completed in about 5 years).  Thank you for your support of this important project!

COVID updates.  Pooled Testing is continuing each Wednesday at each building through the end of the school year.  It has been a great way to find and isolate cases quickly.  If you are interested in participating, click HERE to sign your child up.  Masking procedures will remain the same during school and on buses for now.  We are awaiting further guidance from DESE.  More info and other health notes can be found on this month’s RN Team Newsletter.

Athletic News.  Congrats to the many teams who have worked so hard under unusual circumstances this year!  Black Knight Pride is stronger than ever.  A shout-out to girls’ lacrosse, our newest sport, for a first-ever win, and first-ever home win both this last week!

MCAS.  Elementary and OMS students (gr 3-7 this week) will be taking one session of Math and/or ELA this week.  Please check with your school office with any questions.

Lots of celebrations are beginning in the next week or so as we get close to the end of school.  Be on the lookout for announcements from each school.

Have a great week everyone!

Dr. Marcus, Superintendent
