Ryan Augusta Appointed Next Principal of Stoughton High School

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Ryan Augusta has been appointed the next Principal of Stoughton High School. Mr. Augusta, presently serving as the Assistant Principal at Medway High School, will become SHS Principal starting July 1, 2026. He will succeed current SHS Principal Ms. Juliette Miller when she becomes Superintendent of Schools.

Mr. Augusta has served as an assistant/vice Principal since 2016, demonstrating a strong commitment to student development and success, as well as building a strong school culture, supporting educators, and partnering with families and community organizations. He has been in the Assistant Principal role at Medway High since 2023. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Principal for Student Services at Franklin High School and was a Vice Principal at Westport Junior-Senior High School. He began his career as a special education teacher in Newton.

“I am truly honored to be named the next principal of Stoughton High School and grateful for the opportunity to join such a dedicated school community,” Mr. Augusta said. “During my visit and throughout the interview process, I was struck by the pride that both students and staff have in their school, as well as the deep commitment of the faculty and staff to supporting every learner. I look forward to listening, building strong relationships, and working collaboratively with students, families, and educators to continue strengthening the outstanding work already underway at Stoughton High School. I am excited to support the continued growth of the Vision of the Graduate as it comes to life in ways that shape students’ experiences and prepare them for success beyond Stoughton High School.”

Mr. Augusta’s appointment concludes a search process that began in November and included several interviews, site visits, and meetings with key stakeholders.

“I want to thank the Search Committee of students, parents, and staff and faculty for providing Ms. Miller and I four outstanding candidates for consideration. The final two candidates were both exceptional professionals and I want to thank them both for undergoing this process. Mr. Augusta has the right skill set to bring SHS to the next level,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Baeta said.

“Mr. Augusta stood out in a strong candidate pool because of his clear commitment to students and his thoughtful, collaborative leadership style,” Ms. Miller said. “His background in special education has shaped a deeply student-centered approach, ensuring that all learners are supported and challenged to succeed. Mr. Augusta is thoughtful, motivated, and eager to lead Stoughton High School forward. We are excited to welcome Mr. Augusta as the next principal of Stoughton High School and look forward to the leadership he will provide as we continue building a strong future for our students.”

Mr. Augusta is an Eagle Scout and is pursuing his Ph.D. in school law. He is the father of three and enjoys being actively involved in their activities, which currently include dance, baseball, and lacrosse. His wife is a special educator, so education is very much a part of their family life and conversations, he said.

“I’ve always valued the role schools play as the center of a community, and that perspective has shaped both my personal and professional commitment to education,” Mr. Augusta said.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Augusta to Stoughton High! He will be at SHS in the near future to meet with the Black Knights community. Stay tuned for more details.
