The Dawe School focuses on different positive character traits each month and honors students for displaying those character traits at a "Character Counts" assembly. The Dawe Dragons pictured here were recognized for showing confidence. Congratulations!

Take a look at photos from the Community Math Day at the Wilkins School! Special guests from the Stoughton community visited classrooms at the Wilkins last week to read a math-themed book to the students and then help the students with a math-based activity. A big thank you to all of the special guests from the Stoughton Public Schools and town departments for participating and celebrating math with the Wilkins School!

The South School after school theater program presented its production of Willy Wonka for families on Thursday night and for the whole school on Friday. The students did an incredible job acting, singing, and dancing! Congratulations to the cast and crew and to the South School staff who oversaw the production! They are pictured here on stage before the start of Thursday's performance.

Stoughton High AP Chemistry students used a lab technique called chromatography to make t-shirts in preparation for the AP Chemistry Exam on Monday, May 6! Good Luck to all students on their AP Exams over the next couple of weeks!

Students taking Drawing 2 at Stoughton High worked on a project making balloon letters with charcoal. Students photographed Mylar balloons of their initials, then drew them using a grid system. They next used white and black charcoal pencils on gray toned paper to recreate the shiny reflective texture. Take a look at some examples here. They did an amazing job!

The O'Donnell Middle School Math Department is organizing a Family Math Night for OMS families on Thursday, May 9 at 6:30pm in the OMS cafetorium. There will be math games, riddles, competitions, and a photo booth - fun for the whole family!

Members of the Stoughton High Unified Track team are pictured here before the start of their first meet against Attleboro! Unified sports give students of all abilities the chance to take part in the high school athletics experience.

More than 45 students in grades 8-12 will be performing in Stoughton High School’s spring production of Pippin! They have been working tirelessly for over 6 weeks rehearsing! Performances will take place in the SHS Auditorium: Friday, April 26 at 7pm; Saturday, April 27 at 7pm; and Sunday, April 28 at 4pm. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors and can be purchased in advance online: https://stoughtonhsdrama.ludus.com/index.php

Students in our April Vacation STEM Camp learned about constellations and then designed their own!

During the last period of the school day on Monday, third graders at the Wilkins School went out to the front lawn and viewed the start of the solar eclipse. Students used the viewing boxes they made and also wore eclipse glasses to observe this special sight.

There was lots of excitement about the solar eclipse in our schools on Monday! Here are some pictures of second graders in Mrs. DeMayo’s class at the South School creating their own model of an eclipse with flashlights and ping pong balls and then observing the sun through the special eclipse glasses.

The Gibbons School focuses on a positive character trait each month and the students pictured here were recently recognized for showing perseverance over the course of the previous month! Congratulations!

The O’Donnell Middle School’s Project 351 ambassador and nominees were honored at the most recent School Committee meeting. Each year 8th grade students are nominated for consideration to be the OMS ambassador for Project 351. Project 351 is a statewide youth-led service program that convenes a new class of 8th grade ambassadors, representing the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts, who “embrace the responsibility to lead with a determination to make a difference.” Tana Bernard was chosen as the O'Donnell Middle School's Project 351 Ambassador for this school year! The other nominees from OMS were Brennan Cox, Valentina de Carvalho, Eden Gonsalves, Jackson Gosule, and Victor Pereira. Tana addressed the School Committee and shared her experiences representing Stoughton and participating in Project 351's "launch day" in Boston over MLK weekend. Tana and the other OMS Project 351 nominees also received certificates from School Committee Chair Katherine Weiss and OMS Principal Katrina Crowley. The students are pictured here with members of the School Committee, Dr. Baeta, and Mrs. Crowley.
